Minister of Education Visits Japan to Enhance Educational Cooperation


Tokyo: Mohamed Abdel-Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, is heading to the Japanese capital, Tokyo, today on an official visit that will last several days. The aim is to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in educational projects of mutual interest between the two countries. The visit is set to include a number of important meetings with the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, as well as several significant political figures, including the Chair of the Japanese Parliament’s Committee on Education, the Governor of Tokyo, and the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as well as the Secretary-General of the Japan-Egypt Friendship Group.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the visit will also include meetings with a group of experts in various educational fields, including officials from the National Institute for Educational Policy Research (NIER). Discussions will focus on Japanese education policies, best practices in special needs education, the use of modern technologies in education, and curriculum development. Mr Mohamed Abdel-Latif’s agenda will also review the successful cooperation results in the model of Japanese-Egyptian schools and ways to activate further cooperation mechanisms in this context. Additionally, he will visit several Japanese schools and educational institutions to observe best practices and educational reforms in special needs education, inclusive education, especially “Tokkatsu”, along with professional development programmes for teachers.
