DUBAI: Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, met with Daniela Santanchè, Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Italy, and Julia Simpson, President/CEO at World Travel and Tourism Council, to strengthen prospects for joint tourism cooperation.
This came on the sidelines of their participation in the 31st edition of the Arabian Travel Market, being held in Dubai from May 6 to 9, 2024.
Bin Touq and the Italian Minister explored ways to strengthen tourism cooperation between the UAE and Italy, leveraging their existing economic partnership. Their discussions focused on creating new investment opportunities in hospitality, aviation, and travel for Emirati and Italian businesses. Additionally, they explored the development of innovative tourist and recreational programmes to encourage a greater exchange of tourist delegations between the two countries.
Bin Touq affirmed that the United Arab Emirates, thanks to the vision and directives of its wise leader
ship, is keen to strengthen tourism relations with various countries of the world in all fields and tourism sectors, exchange the best practices, and build bridges of partnership with international tourism organisations.
During his meeting with the President/CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council, Bin Touq was briefed on the latest developments in the tourism sector globally, modern trends to enhance the growth of this vital sector, and strengthen its contribution to the global economy’s GDP. They also discussed the importance of exchanging expertise and information on sustainable tourism policies.
