Minister Highlights Jordan’s Investment-Friendly Environment, Economic Growth

Ma’an: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Krishan affirmed that the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II have bolstered Jordan’s investment-friendly environment, which is crucial for economic growth and job creation.

Krishan made these remarks during a government meeting on Thursday with ministers and stakeholders from the public and private sectors, focused on investment, industry, trade, and development in the Ma’an Development Area. He emphasized the government’s efforts to streamline investment procedures and foster synergy between the public and private sectors.

He highlighted Jordan’s many advantages in the Middle East, including security, a stable dinar exchange rate, and attractive investment legislation. Krishan noted Jordan’s significant achievements over the past 25 years under King Abdullah II’s leadership, aiming for sustainable growth across all economic sectors to improve citizens’ quality of life.

Krishan stated that His Majesty has integrated Jordan int
o the global economy and consistently emphasized the importance of a genuine public-private partnership. Despite regional and global challenges, Jordan has become a model in the region for economic development and investment due to its stable, attractive environment.

He recalled September 9, 2007, as a notable day when His Majesty launched the Ma’an Development Zone, aiming to promote local development and economic prosperity across the Kingdom. The zone has attracted investment and development projects, generating job opportunities and improving living conditions, especially in rural areas.

Krishan praised the Ma’an Development Zone for its natural resources, strategic location, and role as a hub for economic markets in neighboring countries, making it an attractive destination for investors and development projects.

During the meeting, attended by several ministers and key officials, Krishan reviewed government decisions and procedures based on visits and meetings held since June 2021 to address challeng
es faced by investors and industrialists in development, industrial, and free zones.

The Ma’an Development Zone is a key driver of development and industry, meeting local and regional market needs through its integrated structure. His Majesty King Abdullah II awarded the zone the Silver Jubilee Medal for its role in regional development and investment, contributing to the national economy and job creation.

The development zone received three medals during the Silver Jubilee for its achievements in various sectors under His Majesty’s reign, continuing modernization and investment efforts.

The Ma’an Development Zone, through the Ma’an Development Company, promotes competitive advantages and enhances the economic, social, historical, religious, architectural, and industrial dimensions of the region. It provides an attractive business environment to support development excellence.

rastructure, especially in solar energy projects, placing it on the investment map in Jordan and the region. He emphasized the simplified regulatory environment and high-quality services supporting site industries and promoting development.
