Cairo: Minister of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat has lauded Egypt’s special ties with the African Development Bank (AFDB) over the last decades.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister’s remarks came during a meeting with Khaled Sherif, Executive Director for Egypt and Djibouti at the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank. The discussions focused on the implementation progress of the regional strategy with the bank, which is set to continue until 2026, as well as preparations for the upcoming annual meetings of the bank.
During the meeting, they also reviewed global economic developments and the roles played by development banks in developing countries. Al-Mashat highlighted Egypt’s significance within the AFDB, noting that it is the second largest country with the highest number of shares among the countries in the region.
