Minister Hamdan meets his Lebanese counterpart and they discuss prospects for joint cultural cooperation

Ramallah – Ma’an – Palestinian Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan stressed the importance of joint cultural cooperation between Palestine and Lebanon, the importance of holding joint cultural events, and activating twinning relations.

This came during his meeting today, Wednesday, with the Lebanese Minister of Culture, Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada, via Zoom technology, against the backdrop of choosing Tripoli as the Capital of Arab Culture 2024.

Minister Hamdan said that Tripoli deserves to be chosen as the Capital of Arab Culture 2024, and all our cities, villages and the Middle East deserve to be honoured, and to record and document the history that befits them.

In turn, the Lebanese Minister Al-Murtada said that Tripoli is a worthy reality, as it is the second Mamluk capital after Cairo, and its archaeological heritage is complete and complete, and it is the city of science and scholars historically, and the owner of a cultural advancement and renaissance in the twenties, thirties, and forties, and a city that has strong reserves of what qualifies it to play this role in being chosen as the capital of Arab culture 2024. “.

He added that words remain inadequate for Jerusalem to describe its symbolism and importance to every Palestinian and every Arab, as we are the origin of the world and this spot is the origin of the Arab world, stressing that the twinning between Jerusalem and Tripoli will inevitably be activated on the ground.
