Minister Delegate in Charge of National Defence Administration and Lieutenant General, FAR Inspector General Receive Ethiopian National Defence Forces’ Chief of Staff


Rabat – On the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defence Administration (ADN), received on Monday at the ADN headquarters in Rabat, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula Gelalcha, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom from August 25 to 29, 2024, at the head of an important delegation.

After reviewing bilateral cooperation in the field of defence and opportunities for further strengthening it, the two officials expressed, during this meeting, their satisfaction with the excellent level of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, as well as their shared ambition and willingness to consolidate these exemplary ties in the future, according to a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

On the same day, and on the High Instructions of HM the King, Supreme Commander and
Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, received at the headquarters of the General Staff of the FAR, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula Gelalcha, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces.

During the working session, held in the presence of the two delegations, the two heads of delegation discussed the various aspects of cooperation, while welcoming the level of relations between the two armies. The two officials also discussed ways of strengthening this cooperation and extending it to other areas of common interest, the same source added.

Rooted in a rich and deep history, bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, revitalised since the historic visit of His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, to Addis Ababa in 2016, are gearing towards a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the two countries’ common objectives while actively contribut
ing to the development and stability of the African continent.
