Cairo: The Ministry of State for Military Production wants to expand its collaboration with both local and international private sector companies as part of its strategic plan to boost industrial output and support national development projects. This step aligns with the ministry’s efforts to enhance production capacity, integrate modern technologies, and improve services provided to various state sectors. The announcement came as Minister of State for Military Production, Mohamed Salah El-Din, chaired the general assembly meetings to review the proposed planning budget for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. Minister Salah El-Din emphasised that strategic planning is essential for achieving national objectives and strengthening industrial capabilities.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the proposed budget focuses on increasing contributions to national and developmental projects in various sectors, enhancing cooperation with the private sector to localise advanced technologies and expand manufacturing capabilities, and meeting the needs of the Armed Forces and police by supplying essential weapons, ammunition, and equipment. Additionally, the ministry aims to improve public services through stronger integration with state-run sectors.
During the discussions, Minister Salah El-Din highlighted the challenges posed by global crises, including the Russia-Ukraine war and regional instability, which have disrupted global supply chains and increased material costs. He stressed that reducing reliance on imports and supporting local industries is critical for preserving foreign currency reserves and strengthening Egypt’s economy. Minister Salah El-Din outlined several directives aimed at optimising efficiency, governance, and productivity across the ministry’s affiliated companies and units. These directives include upgrading production lines to increase efficiency and competitiveness, investing in workforce development to enhance skills and performance, implementing governance principles to ensure transparency and cost control, strengthening administrative reforms, and improving financial management. le as a key pillar of Egypt’s military and industrial sectors.
Over the course of the two-day general assembly meetings, chairpersons of affiliated companies and units delivered presentations on their proposed budgets for the 2025/2026 year. These presentations included comparisons with projected performance for the 2024/2025 year and a review of achievements in the 2023/2024 year. The budget discussions reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to long-term planning, innovation, and sustainable industrial growth, ensuring that Egypt’s Military Production sector remains a cornerstone of national defence and economic progress.
