Middle East Community Health Network conference starts Sunday

The eighth regional conference of the Middle East Community Health Network (EMPHNET) kicks off Sunday, hosting a group of experts and decision-makers in public health.

“Enhancing Public Health Preparedness and Response: Challenges, Opportunities and Ways Forward” conference will focus on providing an ideal platform to assess the readiness of national health systems to confront health crises, especially in light of the lessons learned from COVID-19.

The conference, sponsored by Princess Muna Al Hussein, aims to identify challenges and opportunities to enhance health security at the national and global levels and seeks to draw a road map for a healthier and safer future.

The conference will offer an opportunity for public health experts, thought leaders and decision-makers to exchange experiences and knowledge and build strategic partnerships to enhance international cooperation in public health.

The four-day conference will comprise activities including workshops, panel discussions, forums, keynote present
ations, presentations and research posters.

The events will cover a wide range of health topics, including communicable diseases, disease surveillance, immunisation against vaccine-preventable diseases, epidemiological investigations, maternal and child health and non-communicable diseases.
