Captain Haitham Mesto, Chief Commissioner of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), assumed the role of President for the 69th session of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization. The session commenced on July 1-2 in Rabat, Morocco.
During the meeting, Captain Mesto underscored the session’s significance in facilitating coordinated positions among member states in international forums. Discussions also centered on implementing recommendations from the organization’s technical committees, including those on air transport, navigation, safety, security, and environmental issues. Additionally, organizational and financial matters of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization were deliberated.
The gathering provided a platform to review the organization’s achievements, ongoing projects, and strategies for enhancing collaboration with international and regional aviation bodies. Key agenda items included joint operational plans with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

e 69th Executive Council session precedes the organization’s 28th regular General Assembly scheduled for July 3-4, where Jordan will participate with a delegation led by Captain Mesto.
Established as a specialized agency of the Arab League, the Arab Civil Aviation Organization aims to foster unified standards and cooperation among Arab nations in civil aviation, ensuring safe, secure, and efficient air transport services.
