Minister of International Cooperation Dr Rania el Mashat on Friday discussed with new British Ambassador in Cairo Gareth Bayley joint economic relations between Egypt and the UK in light of national developmental priorities and the joint statement issued by a British-African investment summit in January, 2020 to promote mutual economic cooperation.
The talks were held within the framework of periodic meeting Mashat is having with multilateral and bilateral development partners to boost joint ties.
The talks highlighted the framework of joint economic cooperation binding Egypt and the UK and aspects of future cooperation in order to enhance the participation of the Private Sector in development and develop partnerships in several domains including health, education and IT as well as small and medium-sized companies.
Mashat welcomed the newly-appointed diplomat, stressing joint historic relations between Egypt and the UK.
In turn, Bayley said he is upbeat to start his new post as the UK’s representative in Egypt, adding he is looking forward to boosting joint action with all bodies in Egypt to promote horizons of partnerships between the two governments.
