International Cooperation Minister Rania el Mashat said on Friday the government is keen on offering all support to companies seeking to invest in Egypt, especially in top-priority sectors, in light of the country’s transformation to green economy.
Mashat was discussing cooperation with Scatec Solar CEO Terje Pilskog in the presence of Norwegian Ambassador in Cairo Hilde Klemetsdal and Mohamed Amer, the country director of Scatec Solar Egypt.
Mashat reviewed State steps to enhance partnerships with the private sector, pointing to Egypt signing of memorandums of understanding in the green hydrogen domain.
Pilskog, for his part, stressed that Scatec Solar is keen to fulfill its commitments toward Egypt, saying the Norwegian company seeks to be one of the top firms working in green hydrogen and green ammonia.
Pilskog hailed Benban Solar Park, noting his company looks forward to boosting cooperation with Egypt in the fields of desalination and renewable energy, especially hydrogen and ammonia.
He greatly appreciated efforts that resulted in issuing green bonds to refinance the company’s stations in Benban Park.
During the meeting, both sides agreed on holding technical talks between the International Cooperation Ministry and the company’s officials on success stories of Scatec Solar.
