MAP Launches Third Blindness Combat Campaign


The Jordan Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) has initiated its third campaign to combat blindness, with the goal of performing 800 free cataract surgeries as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for eye patients across the Kingdom.

The campaign, announced on Tuesday, is organized in collaboration with the Al Basar International Foundation, Bios Foundation, Al-Khansa Hospital, and Amman Pharmaceutical Industries, under the patronage of Ziad Zoubi, President of the Jordan Medical Association.

MAP highlighted the success of its previous campaigns. The first, conducted in January, involved the examination of 3,600 patients and resulted in 399 cataract surgeries. The second campaign, launched last week, saw over 3,500 patients examined, with surgeries performed on the most severe cases.

Since its establishment in 1990, MAP has focused on providing primary health care services through its health centers across Jordan. To date, the organization has treated more than two million patients, th
anks to charitable donations and the unwavering support of its partners.
