Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Saturday, 9/11/2024, as he arrived at Cairo International Airport, leading a high-level delegation for an official visit to Egypt. This visit, initiated at the invitation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, aims to fortify the longstanding relations between Cairo and Kuala Lumpur, which encompass a range of political, economic, cultural, and religious domains, according to the Egyptian cabinet.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed on his official social media accounts that this visit presents a significant opportunity to enhance Malaysia-Egypt relations and investigate new areas of collaboration. During his stay, Ibrahim is scheduled to deliver a public lecture at Al-Azhar University and interact with Malaysian students studying there.
The visit highlights the educational ties between the two nations, with approximately 6,500 Malaysian students currently enrolled
at Al-Azhar University. This reinforces the cultural and educational bonds between Malaysia and Egypt, further emphasizing the importance of this official visit.
