ABU DHABI: H.H. Sheikha Shaikha bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, and Honorary President of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to aligning with the UAE’s leadership’s efforts to bring joy and happiness to sick children and their families, both inside and outside the country.
“Our foundation’s ongoing mission is to bring joy and foster hope, optimism, strength, and courage among patients. At the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we have succeeded in aligning with the goals of the Year of Sustainability announced by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to sustainably bring joy and happiness to everyone’s hearts without discrimination,’ she said.
‘Throughout 2023, the foundation has sown the seeds of happiness and optimism in the hearts of 712 boys and girls from 28 nationalities inside and outside the country, suffering from some 98 life-threatening chronic diseases,’ she added.

he UAE’s noble humanitarian work never ceases, and our foundation is fulfilling the wishes of sick children regardless of their locations or nationalities. The outcomes of 2023 have warmed our hearts, with 307 wishes being fulfilled in the UAE, 217 wishes in Jordan, and 188 wishes in Egypt. We look forward to further achievements and expanding our philanthropic work to bring happiness to children battling serious illnesses around the world,’ Sheikha Shaikha said in conclusion.
The foundation’s mission lies not only in granting the wishes of children suffering from critical illnesses, but also aims to strengthen these children’s faith, along with their families and loved ones, when they all witness the children’s wishes being granted. This will bring hope, strength, and joy to their young lives.
