Madbouly Reviews Progress on State’s Digital Transformation Goals


Cairo: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, conducted a follow-up meeting to review the progress on implementing the state’s digital transformation objectives. The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Engineer Mohamed Al-Jousqi, Assistant Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade for Planning, Development, and Digital Transformation, among others.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to advancing digital transformation goals, aiming to automate various services to expedite procedures and enhance service delivery to citizens. Dr. Madbouly underscored the importance of implementing the “Unified Services Card” in Port Said as per the Ministerial Committee for Social Justice’s decision, ensuring all necessary technical specifications are met.



Dr. Madbouly also highlighted the priority of automating procedures for establishing and licensing companies in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. He stressed the need for a clear plan with specific timelines to fully automate these processes, which are crucial for investors.



During the meeting, Dr. Amr Talaat presented updates on the Digital Egypt platform, noting that several services are currently exclusive to the platform, including traffic violation inquiries. He mentioned ongoing preparations to launch additional services and efforts to digitalize services that presently require physical presence, such as documentation. These developments aim to enhance digital infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted service delivery.



Dr. Talaat also discussed his meeting with the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade about the unified support services card, which will be implemented across Port Said. The card will provide access to health insurance, food support, and social protection services, among others, allowing citizens to track services via smartphones, reducing reliance on physical cards.



The Minister of Communications and Information Technology confirmed ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to facilitate company establishment procedures. This collaboration focuses on improving the current system’s efficiency and achieving full automation of operations.



Ministry of Investment officials also shared updates on efforts to automate various investor services through an electronic platform, aligning with the state’s objectives in this sector.
