Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Murray Auchincloss, CEO of BP, Nader Zaki, the company’s regional president for the Middle East and North Africa, and Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. At the beginning of the meeting, Madbouly welcomed Auchincloss and his delegation to the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, emphasizing BP’s role as a strategic partner of Egypt in the oil and gas sector.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly expressed his appreciation for BP’s longstanding presence in the Egyptian market, highlighting that the company has been operating in Egypt for 60 years and has invested over $30 billion cumulatively. He noted the ambitious plans BP has for exploring oil and gas in six concession areas across the country, which fosters confidence and optimism for future discoveries.
Madbouly further conveyed his interest in enhancing cooperation with BP in the forthcoming years. On the other hand, Auchincloss presented the prom
ising investment opportunities BP is exploring in several concession areas, with plans set from 2025 to 2027.
Auchincloss also discussed plans to commence production from various wells operated by the company, with one well expected to start production in the first quarter of the following year. During the meeting, Badawi engaged with BP officials on efforts to expedite production processes and the timelines for initiating production from several wells and fields within BP’s concession areas.
