Cairo: Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly has announced that Saturday, January 25, 2025, will be observed as an official paid holiday. This decision commemorates both the January 25 Revolution Day and Police Day.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the holiday will apply to employees across various sectors, including ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, and both public and private sector companies. Despite the holiday, Dr. Madbouly assured that any scheduled exams will proceed as planned and will not be disrupted.
The January 25 holiday marks the 14th anniversary of the 2011 Revolution and also serves as Police Day, which remembers the sacrifice of 50 Egyptian policemen who were killed by British occupation forces in Ismailia in 1952.
