Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli affirmed Thursday 23/3/2023 that throughout the past 8 years the Egyptian government focused on building up the Egyptian citizen, adding that before that the urban area in Egypt did not exceed 7%.
“ Today, we are speaking about an urban area exceeding 12% of the total area of Egypt.” the prime minister said.
During a meeting with a high-level French delegation grouping prominent French politicians and media figures, at the Cabinet’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Madbouli said the great progress witnessed in the NAC is the fruit of 6 years of achievements, as the area has once been complete desert and this all attests to the great developmental leap and the hard work being realized on ground.
He also welcomed the French delegation, voicing hope that they would have the chance to tour the NAC to stand on the outstanding progress.
The prime minister shed light on great projects set up to upgrade the infrastructure across Egypt.
He also underscored President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s launching of Haya Karima (Decent Life) Initiative to develop Egyptian rural areas, where 55% of the Egyptian population live.
The prime minister also referred to the establishment of new cities, along with setting up sewage treatment, agricultural drainage treatment projects and seawater desalination plants.
For their part, members of the French delegation voiced deep appreciation of the Egyptian civilization, saying that French people highly value Egyptians.
They also referred to strong relations binding Egypt and France underlining the importance of further strengthening such ties.
As for the increase in illegal immigration from North Africa, the prime minister said facing up to such issue would help expedite working out solutions for problems facing youth in these countries.
He added that the illegal immigration phenomenon urged governments to work on creating more job outlets, empowering youth and organizing programs for honing their skills.
The meeting also took up the government ‘s efforts to empower women politically and economically
address extremist ideologies, along with a host of climate-change related issues.
