A poll showed on Friday that the ruling Likud party would win 24 seats if general elections were held in Israel today.

According to a poll conducted by the Israeli newspaper Maariv, the Blue and White party led by Benny Gantz continues to decline and could win 21 seats if elections were held today.
41% of Israelis consider Netanyahu the most suitable person to head the government, while 40% prefer Gantz. 47% of Israelis consider Netanyahu the most suitable person to head the government, and 34% prefer opposition leader Yair Lapid.
According to the poll, 56% of Israelis support a unity government to recover prisoners in exchange for an agreement to advance the date of elections.
