Finance Minister Mohamed Maait asserted commitment to making further economic reforms to confront external and internal challenges.

Egypt has been facing serious repercussions of consecutive global and regional crises, including Covid pandemic, the onset of the war on Ukraine and the escalation of the war on Gaza, in addition to tensions in the Red Sea region, added Maait.

The minister went on to mention that the establishment of a stronger economy is based on the promotion of local production and exportation rates.

Maait’s remarks were made on Saturday 08/6/2024 at a workshop with the Middle East Regional Technical Assistance Center (METAC) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He said “we have been making great strides in improving the business atmosphere and stimulating the growth of the private sector in order to boost economic activities and scale up the flow of private investments”.
