Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi said that a solid waste recycling plant has been completed in Dar el Salam city, Sohag governorate, at a total cost of EGP 90 million.
It is the second factory to be finalized within the framework of the infrastructure projects of the construction waste recycling system.
The first factory was completed in Sandub, Dakahlia governorate. It was built with the latest German and Dutch technology, with a design capacity of 1,200 ton/day, and at a total cost of nearly EGP 333 million.
In a statement on Friday, the Local Development Ministry said that the projects are within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to expedite the implementation of infrastructure projects for the new integrated solid waste management system nationwide.
Two new factories for waste treatment and disposal are under construction in Mit Ghamr and Manzala cities in Dakahlia, at a cost of about EGP 225 million, the minister said.
