Light rainfall likely with dusty wind in Upper Egypt till Monday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts a welcome dip in temperatures across the country this week.

Egypt’s deep south is expected to see light rainfall and thunder accompanied by active dusty winds on Sunday and Monday.

Temperatures will be high on the North Coast and extremely hot in South Sinai and Upper Egypt, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

Humidity levels continue to rise, exceeding 90 percent, which increases the feeling of high temperatures.

The EMA advises citizens to drink plenty of water and cold fluids and wear light-coloured, loose-fitting cotton clothes.

The authority warned of maritime navigation disturbances on the Mediterranean Sea coasts on Saturday and Sunday due to high winds, with wind speeds reaching 40-60 km/h and wave heights hitting 2-3.5 metres.

Meanwhile, temperatures in Cairo and the Nile Delta will see highs of around 37 degrees.

The North Coast is expected to witness highs of around 34 degrees.

South Sinai will see highs of around 40
degrees.

In northern Upper Egypt, temperatures will reach 42 degrees, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 44 degrees.
