In an official statement, Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants on Thursday expressed its full support for South Africa’s stance, applauding its efforts to file a lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
The charges accuse Israel of committing genocide, constituting a blatant violation of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
The ministry also conveyed its anticipation for a fair and expeditious judgment that reflects respect for values and human rights, particularly international humanitarian law.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants extended gratitude to South Africa for taking this principled position and acknowledged all its comprehensive endeavors in this regard.
