Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the Israeli aggression on the southern suburb of Beirut, which killed and injured dozens of Lebanese.
“The Israeli killing machine is not satisfied with targeting Lebanese areas in the south and the Bekaa Valley to the depth of the capital Beirut, meters away from one of the largest hospitals in Lebanon,” Mikati said in a statement on Tuesday evening
He added, “This criminal act that took place tonight is a link in a series of aggressive operations that harvest civilians in a clear and explicit violation of international law and international humanitarian law, something we put in the hands of the international community that must assume its responsibilities and pressure with all force to oblige Israel to stop its aggression and threats and implement international resolutions.”
“We will also reserve our full right to take all measures that contribute to deterring Israeli aggression,” he said, adding, “I have called the Council of Ministers to convene tomorrow a
nd invite all ministers to participate.”
