KOICA and Egyptian NTA Celebrate Successful Conclusion of Capacity Building Programme.


Cairo: The Korea International Co-operation Agency (KOICA) and the Egyptian National Training Academy (NTA) recently hosted a ‘Knowledge Sharing Seminar’ to celebrate the completion of a three-year capacity building programme in Korea. The programme, titled ‘Capacity Development Programme for Civil Servants at the National Training Academy of Egypt (2022-2024),’ aimed to enhance the capabilities of NTA staff by fostering innovative and intrapreneurial mindsets.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the seminar was attended by notable figures such as the Korean Ambassador in Cairo Kim Yonghyon, KOICA’s Country Director Kim Jinyoung, NTA Executive Director Rasha Ragheb, and Hamdy Hakim representing Ambassador Ahmed Farid, the Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Cultural Affairs. The event marked the culmination of efforts to improve the organisational capacity at NTA through KOICA’s Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow (CIAT) fellowship initiative. This initiative sought to equip NTA sta
ff with advanced skills, particularly in creating e-learning programs, to bolster Egypt’s national human resource development.

The seminar brought together key stakeholders, including officials from the Korean Embassy, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KOICA Egypt Office, and NTA, along with alumni of the training programme. During the event, three alumni representatives shared their experiences and insights gained in Korea, discussing the programme’s impact on their professional work and how they applied their new knowledge to enhance public services.

Country Director of the KOICA Egypt Office, Jinyoung Kim, opened the ceremony with an expression of gratitude to all participants. She highlighted the seminar as both a celebration and a platform to reflect on the insights gained, fostering further cooperation. NTA Executive Director Rasha Ragheb also expressed appreciation for KOICA’s support and funding of the programme, while the Korean Ambassador extended his gratitude to all those involved in the
training.
