The city of El Alamein is preparing to host the first race of its kind organized in Egypt for milk-producing camels.
Eid Hamdan Al-Muzaini, head of the Egyptian Camel Federation, said that the race is the first of its kind in Egypt and is organized by the Egyptian Camel Federation, and with the support of the UAE Camel Federation.
He added that the event are scheduled to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a two-day race for camels from all governorates. Camel owners from all governorates of Egypt will participate in this race in support of the production of camel milk on the land of Egypt.
He added that the requests of owners of camels producing milk are received by a committee from the Al Qasimi Camel and Equestrian Club in Matrouh, to determine the number of participants, pointing out that the conditions for entering the camel milk competition are the participation of each camel owner with 2 camels producing milk, where the milking process is carried out by the owner or whoever he deems appropriate, an acknowledgment that the participating camels are free of any disease common among camels.
