Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh said Jordan is working to host new renewable energy projects, and develop and modernize the grid to achieve energy transformation, which represents an opportunity to contribute to the Kingdom’s green energy production.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting organized by EDAMA – Energy, Water and Environment, in cooperation with Kawar Energy (an eco-friendly project development company) Tuesday, entitled ” Role of the Middle East in the Energy Transformation, Its Impact and Jordan’s Opportunities”.
Speaking at the event, EDAMA Chairman, Dr. Duraid Mahasneh, stressed the importance of enhancing dialogue among various stakeholders to advance the region’s energy transformation.
For his part, CEO of Kawar Energy, Hanna Zaghloul, noted the importance of establishing a “clear” vision on the future development of the energy sector in the region, especially in Jordan.
The participants went over the challenges and opportunities facing Jordan in
this field, and ways to enhance joint cooperation to support the transition to a green economy, according to a Ministry of Energy statement.
