Kabbag: Ministry turns its strategy into multifaceted socio-economic development

Minister of Social Solidarity Nivine Kabbag asserted her ministry is turning its strategy into incorporating a multifaceted socio-economic development approach and restructuring it through establishing departments for economic empowerment.

The ministry seeks to promote the economic empowerment for women and hone skills of young people and provide job opportunities for them, added Kabbag in remarks during the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with “Egypt’s manpower project” Wednesday.

The project is financed by USAID in cooperation and partnership to fulfil “start your trip for training and employment” program under the umbrella of “Forsa or Chance” program of the ministry.

She said the ministry is encouraging youth to carry out microprojects by providing soft loans and grants, in addition to efforts to restructure the ministry at the institutional level or in setting up units nationwide.

Kabbag commended cooperation with USAID in implementing several projects, covering reduction in unemployment rates and repercussions of Covid-19.
