Gaza: The Ministry of Justice in Gaza denounced the Arab and Islamic silence on the crime of starving Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which is considered a crime against humanity and a crime of collective punishment, as well as a war crime based on the Hague and Fourth Geneva Conventions, the provisions of the First Additional Protocol, and international humanitarian law.
The Ministry of Justice expressed its deep shock at the silence of the political systems in the region, which could pressure the occupation to stop the crime of starvation and save the lives of no less than seven hundred thousand citizens, including thousands of children who suffer from severe emaciation and dehydration due to malnutrition and the scarcity of potable water.
The Ministry of Justice indicated that the occupation’s use of this type of punishment proved its failure between February and March, and will prove its failure this time in the face of the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza, its north and south. All reside
nts suffer from the lack or scarcity of food supplies, stressing that anyone who stands helpless to save the lives of Palestinians in light of the occupation’s tightening grip on the crossings is participating in the crime of starvation, which violates all laws in addition to its prohibition of the crime of collective punishment.
The Ministry of Justice called on the Palestinian people, who are only an hour away from the Gaza border, not to leave the other half of the country suffering from hunger and to rise up and exert pressure to direct food, all food commodities and potable water to their people in the Gaza Strip.
It also called on the Arab peoples to pressure their political regimes to provide our Palestinian people with their food and water needs
