JREEEF Invests JD100 Million in Sustainable Projects

Amman: The Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) has invested JD100 million in programs and projects across the Kingdom’s governorates from 2015 to 2023, bringing renewable energy solutions to a wide array of sectors throughout the country.

A key achievement of the JREEEF is the installation of over 35,000 solar water heaters in homes across Jordan. The Fund, which utilizes various financing methods, plans to extend this program further by installing an additional 90,000 solar heaters over the next five years.

In a focused effort to support vulnerable communities, the Fund has also provided solar heaters to approximately 5,000 impoverished and chaste families. Through a 100 percent grant, 1,265 solar heaters were installed at a total cost of JD770,000. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Rasmi Hamza, the CEO of the JREEEF, emphasized the ongoing commitment to expand
ing the national project for installing solar heaters in the household sector.

This initiative includes multiple financing options, with special provisions for impoverished families and recipients of the Royal Grant for chaste families, who receive a full grant for the installation. Other families benefit from a 30 percent subsidy on the cost through partnerships with local banks and associations.
