Journalists Syndicate: 67 journalists, media workers killed since start of Israeli aggression on Gaza

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate announced that 67 journalists and media workers have been killed since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7.

A press release issued by the freedoms committee in the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said that with the recent killing of three colleagues; who were identified as the Media professor of Gaza Universities, Adham Hassoneh, and two cameramen Abdullah Darwish and Montaser Al-Sawaf, the number of journalists killed in Gaza have reached 67 since the beginning of the aggression on October 7th.

Head of the Freedoms Committee at the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, Mohammed al-Laham, said that difficulties in monitoring and documentation continue to be a great hindrance to documenting data due to the continued intensive Israeli attacks.

He noted that the committee has lost contact with two colleagues since the first day of the aggression, leaving their fate unknown. They were identified as Nidal al-Wahidi and Haytham Abed al-Wahad.

Laham added that the committee also remains unable until the moment to confirm if female journalist Ala’a al-Hasanat is alive. He said that some sources have reported that Hasanat is still alive, however, the committee has not been able to confirm it.
