Journalist among four injured by Israeli gunfire in Qalqiliya-district town

Four Palestinians, including a journalist, today sustained injuries from Israeli army gunfire in Kafr Qaddum town, east of Qalqiliya, according to a local activist.

Murad Ishtaiwi said that the heavily-armed Israeli soldiers cracked down on a rally in the northern West Bank town, assaulting and opening fire towards the participants, leading to the injury of four people, including Palestine TV journalist Mohammed Enaya.

He added that dozens suffered suffocation due to tear gas inhalation. They were treated at the scene.

Palestine Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) said in a press statement that the soldiers deliberately attacked Palestine TV crew, smashing their equipment, particularly the cameras.

Participants in the rally also called for re-opening the town’s road that has been blocked for 20 years.
