Jordan’s trade balance surplus with Algeria at JD15mln in Q1 2023-DoS

The Kingdom’s trade balance with Algeria achieved a surplus of JD15 million during the January-April period of 2023, Department of Statistics (DoS) said. According to the DoS foreign trade data, Jordan’s exports to Algeria grew during the first quarter of 2023 to reach about JD23 million, compared to JD13 million for the same period last year. Meanwhile, the Kingdom’s imports from Algeria decreased during the first quarter of 2023 to reach about JD8 million, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD38 million. As per the DoS’s statistics, volume of Jordan-Algeria trade exchange during the first quarter of 2023 amounted to about JD31 million, compared to about JD51 million for the same period 2022. Jordan’s exports to Algeria focus on fertilizers, pharmaceutical and chemical products, essential oils, plastics, aluminum, clothing , machinery and electric appliances. Among the Kingdom’s key imports from Algeria are fruits, vegetables, sugar products, grain, paperboard, ceramic products, and electric equipment.
