During a phone call with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof on Monday, Jordan’s King Abdullah II warned of the consequences of the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. He urged the international community to enhance its humanitarian efforts in the Strip, as reported by Jordan’s Petra news agency.

According to a royal court statement, King Abdullah II emphasized the urgent need to halt the Israeli war in Gaza and Lebanon and called for de-escalation across the region.

The King warned of the repercussions of the continued violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, and the violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, said Petra.

The king praised the Netherlands for its efforts in supporting initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire, highlighting the importance of establishing a political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
