Jordanian relief efforts strengthen steadfastness of Gazans

Amman: Since the outbreak of the brutal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, the residents of the Strip have been facing the most difficult challenges in terms of food, medicine, housing and education, which prompted Jordan, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to increase the Jordanian effort to provide assistance to the people in the Strip, which placed the Kingdom at the forefront of the countries that provide all forms of assistance to the Strip to strengthen Palestinian steadfastness on its national soil.

The Jordanian government mobilized all its efforts and capabilities to provide all forms of support to the brothers in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Since the outbreak of the war, Jordan has sent 1865 convoys, including 1122 trucks sent by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) with international organizations and 743 trucks sent by the JHCO through the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) – the Arab Army.

Jordan took a unique initiative by carrying out airdrops to the peopl
e in the Gaza Strip. The total number of airdrops carried out by JAF reached 358, including 257 with brotherly and friendly countries and 101 through JAF, while the total amount of aid sent by air through Al-Arish Airport reached 53 aircraft, including 13 aircraft through the JHCO and 40 aircraft in partnership with relief organizations.

Relief and food aid were also provided directly in cooperation with partner organizations inside the Gaza Strip, benefiting about 717,000 people from the Gaza Strip, while the total weight of aid sent from Jordan and distributed inside Gaza through partner organizations amounted to about 31,000 tons, including 20,000 tons of food commodities, 2,400 tons of relief items, 1,500 tons of medicines and medical supplies, 720 tons of health materials, and 6,000 tons distributed as aid inside Gaza through partner organizations.

With regard to Jordan’s efforts to provide medical services to the people in the Gaza Strip, Jordan has established several hospitals, including the Jordani
an Field Hospital in northern Gaza, which was established in 2009 by JAF under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II. The hospital has received more than 2 million patients since its inception, and more than 43,000 patients since the outbreak of the war on October 7.

Then Jordan established the Jordanian Field Hospital – South Gaza, which was established in November 2023 by JAF under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II in response to the deteriorating health situation in the Strip. The hospital includes 41 beds and 41 incubators and performed more than 10,000 surgeries and received more than 86,000 patients since its inception.

Jordan also established the Jordanian Field Hospital in Nablus to provide medical services to people in the West Bank, which was established in November 2023 by JAF. It has performed more than 900 surgeries and received more than 83,000 patients since its inception, while Jordan has established two health centers in the cities of Ramallah and Jenin that have provi
ded health care to tens of thousands of patients in the West Bank over the years.
