Jordanian Phosphate Mines Company awarded Excellence Certificate


Amman: The Jordanian Phosphate Mines Company (PLC) Sunday secured the R4E Certificate of Recognition of Excellence from the King Abdullah II Centre for Excellence, the official representative of the European Foundation for Quality Management in the Kingdom with a four-star rating.

The company obtained the certificate in recognition of its efficiency in investing in opportunities, confronting challenges, responding quickly and meeting customer needs.

The certificate is deemed one of the highest international certificates of excellence. It adopts a model consisting of global standards for evaluating institutional performance and offers the PLC the opportunity to join the list of global institutions applying excellence.

Company Chairman Muhammad Thneibat received the Certificate of Recognition of Excellence during a ceremony from the Executive Director of the King Abdullah II Centre for Excellence, Ibrahim Rawabdeh.

Thneibat said, “Excellence is not strange to Jordan and its institutions,” noting the keennes
s of His Majesty King Abdullah II to achieve excellence and adopt its culture in national institutions to realise leadership and meet the requirements and vision of economic modernisation.

He explained that the certificate is issued as part of the European-Jordanian partnership, adding to the company’s record of achievements and excellence and the global, regional and local awards it had obtained, adding, “Over the past few years, the company has transformed challenges and difficulties into opportunities for achievement and success.”

He said the company is keen to adopt and enhance the culture of excellence and establish the rules of institutional work, praising the PLC’s Board of Directors, management and staff and the General Union of Mine and Mining Workers.

The Centre Executive Director, Ibrahim Rawabdeh, said, “The journey of excellence in Jordan has been rooted since the country’s establishment,” adding, “The PLC has provided a lot to Jordan and its economy.”

Rawabdeh explained that PLC’s informatio
n would be published in the EFQM database and on the European Foundation for Quality Management’s website now the company is certified with the Centre.
