Amman: A new humanitarian aid convoy, operated by the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), has crossed into Gaza.
According to a JHCO statement on Monday, the convoy consists of 32 trucks equipped in partnership with the World Food Program and supported by the Indonesian Students Association, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Tkiyet Um Ali, and other local campaigns. The convoy carries basic food parcels and relief materials, such as tents and medical supplies, to be distributed in Gaza through partner organizations.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli stated that essential needs would continue to be met to alleviate the suffering of people in Gaza. He highlighted the acute shortage of blood units in the Gaza Strip, prompting a blood donation campaign in collaboration with Jordanian professional unions. The collected blood will be sent via land convoys to supply hospitals and health centers in Gaza for treating the wounded.
Shibli added that the large
turnout at blood donation centers reflects the humanitarian sentiments of the Jordanian people toward Gaza. To date, a total of 2,302 land trucks and 53 planes via El Arish International Airport have delivered aid.
The JHCO continues to receive cash donations through its bank account at Bank al Etihad (JO32 UBSI 1030 0000 4010 1659 9151 06), electronic wallets, CliQ (JHCOGAZA), eFAWATEERCOM, and its website: www.jhco.org.jo.
