Jordanian exports to US at JD607mln in this year’s first tertile

National exports to the United States grew by 0.3 percent in the first tertile of the current year to reach JD607 million compared to JD605 million in the same period last year, according to the Department of Statistics’ foreign trade data issued Tuesday.

The Kingdom’s trade balance surplus with the United States stood at JD186 million in the first tertile of this year, while the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and the United States hit JD1.028 billion.

Meanwhile, imports from the United States increased in the first tertile of 2023 by 18.2 percent, amounting to about JD421 million compared to JD357 million for the same period last year.

Jordanian exports to the US market ranged from clothing, accessories, jewelry, fertilizers, pharmaceutical preparations, information technology services, foodstuffs and live animal products to engineering industries products.

The Kingdom imported metal products, transportation equipment, machinery, electrical appliances, grains, chemical products, medical devices, food industry products, wood pulp, animal products, furniture, articles of iron, used clothing, vegetable oils and fats and wood from the US.
