Fahmy stressed the importance of holding this conference at this time, with Jordanian-Egyptian-UN coordination, to urge international organizations to play a direct role in this framework, which confirms the need for a focus on the proposed priorities and the participation of various countries in this conference, pointing out that the conference will focus on finding direct mechanisms and finding areas of cooperation between the various parties and focusing on important priorities in the Gaza Strip and providing assistance, especially for international humanitarian and relief organizations.

Fahmy underlined the importance of the conference as it reminds the world that there is an important issue, which is the Palestinian cause, with the participation of Arab partners, led by Jordan and Egypt, with their great importance, as Jordan is the custodian of the holy sites, and its role is present in the West Bank in coordination with the Palestinian side as well as Egypt’s presencein the Gaza Strip, so this conf
erence will push European countries and donor institutions to work together and interact with the parties concerned with managing this file.
Furthermore, Ambassador Rakha Ahmed Hassan, former Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister, said that hosting this conference by Jordan comes at an exceptional time that reflects the Kingdom and Egypt’s great interest to resolve the Palestinian issue and stop the aggression on Gaza as a national security issue for the two countries, as well as the humanitarian responsibility of Amman, Cairo and the Arab brothers.
Rakha explained that this conference aims to mobilize the largest integrated international effort to provide relief to Gaza and to bring in aid, expressing his hope that a ceasefire will be reached and the crossings will be opened, in parallel with the expected outcomes of the conference.
