Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), Nizar Mheidat, met with a delegation from the Yemeni National Center of Public Health Laboratories to discuss leveraging Jordan’s expertise in medicine and vaccine analysis, as well as the development of drug control laboratories.
Mheidat provided an overview of the JFDA’s operational methods, emphasizing the utilization of cutting-edge technologies for analyzing medicines and vaccines to ensure their safety. He detailed the process of analysis, registration, and relevant legislative frameworks.
Highlighting Jordan’s commitment to supporting joint Arab initiatives, Mheidat expressed readiness for enhanced collaboration with Yemen, particularly in training and knowledge exchange initiatives.
The Yemeni delegation commended the JFDA’s supervisory role in ensuring the safety of food and medicine, noting its status as a regional regulatory pioneer. They also lauded the JFDA’s training programs, citing their positive impact on capacity building
and experiential exchange, which have facilitated the development and implementation of practical procedures.
