Jordan stands with Lebanon, says Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi Monday said Jordan supports Lebanon, its security, stability, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.

During talks in Beirut with the Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, Safadi expressed Jordan’s full solidarity with Lebanon.

Safadi discussed efforts to stop Israeli aggression on Lebanon, implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and provide the assistance Lebanon needs amid a humanitarian crisis caused by the war.

Safadi affirmed Jordan’s support for Lebanon’s efforts to elect a new president and rebuild and empower its institutions.

Jordan condemned the Israeli war on Lebanon, the bombing of Beirut and the killing of its citizens, a “brutal aggression and a violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that pushes the region towards the abyss of a comprehensive regional war.”

h a Security Council resolution that imposes a halt to the Israeli war on Gaza, Lebanon and the occupied West Bank.

Mikati, Berri and Aoun praised His Majesty King Abdullah II’s efforts to stop the Israeli war on Lebanon and Jordan’s support for Lebanon and its people.

Jordan has sent 7 aid planes to Lebanon, carrying 110 tons of food, relief supplies, medicine and medical supplies since the beginning of the Israeli war on the country.
