The Italian Med-Or Foundation has elected Jordanian Senator Alia Bouran as a member of its advisory board, chaired by former MP and Minister Marco Minniti since Med-Or’s founding in 2021. Bouran was elected after meeting with Minniti in the Italian capital, Rome, on the sidelines of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM). After being re-elected for the second time in a row last February, she has been appointed as the chair of Med-Or’s political committee, which is dedicated to addressing political cooperation and security concerns within the PAM. Med-Or’s political committee is focused on monitoring political developments in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions, as well as geopolitical challenges affecting member states. The Foundation seeks to promote cultural initiatives, research, and education in science to strengthen links, exchanges, and international relations between Italy and countries in the Med-Or area, which spans the Mediterranean, the Sahel, the Horn of Africa, and the Red Sea, as well as the Near and Far East.
