Jordan participated Wednesday in a high-level forum in the Tunisian capital, themed: “Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Arab Scientific Communities and Universities – Towards Sharing and Enhancing Experiences,” hosted by the Arab League’s Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) over two days.
Speaking at the event, Secretary-General of Jordan’s Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST), Dr. Mashhour Rifai, reviewed its experience and success stories of cooperation with similar bodies globally, especially with regard to network industry and academia and bridge related gaps.
Rifai also referred to “El Hassan Learning Platform” that was recently established and would play a “major” role in helping students in the Gaza Strip cover the educational loss caused by the war.
Rifai added that the platform focuses on the Arabic language to enhance its position on the Internet, as its percentage today does not exceed 1%, compared to English, which exceeds 64%.

hliyya Amman University President, Dr. Sari Hamdan, presented its experience in raising the academic level and world rankings, indicating that the average number of published research papers per year reached over 700 works listed on “Scopus” databases during the academic year 2023/2024.
Director-General of ALECSO, Mohamed Ould Amar, announced the launch of the ALECSO Award for Leadership and Innovation, as the organization signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kuwait-based Arab Planning Institute.
