Jordan Marks Arab Environment Day

The Ministry of Environment is joining the Arab world in celebrating Arab Environment Day on Monday. This annual event brings together all Arab nations to discuss pressing environmental issues and developments, aiming to establish sustainable solutions for environmental preservation.

This year, the Council of Arab Ministers has adopted the theme “Rehabilitating Lands to Enhance Resilience,” emphasizing the importance of collective Arab action to create a future in harmony with a clean, green environment free from pollutants.

As part of the celebrations, the Ministry will launch several green environmental initiatives and share electronic messages and videos through its official website.

Minister of Environment Muawiya Radaideh stated that Jordan is participating in this occasion to underscore the significance of environmental conservation. He highlighted the country’s pivotal role among Arab states and its commitment to the belief that environmental responsibility is a collective duty.

Radaideh reaffirmed
Jordan’s dedication to collaborating with international and local partners to protect the environment and support recovery efforts.

He also noted that Jordan is embracing the challenge posed by the Council of Arab Ministers for Arab Environment Day, focusing on preserving the environment and its various components. The goal is to enhance cooperation among Arab nations in addressing key environmental issues and prioritizing actions needed to tackle them.

Radaideh stressed the urgent need for Jordan to transition towards a more sustainable green economy, which requires greater harmony and interaction with the ecological system to expand green spaces, combat desertification, and rehabilitate lands to enhance their resilience.
