The national football team is gearing up for a critical World Cup qualifying clash against Oman Tuesday, with head coach Jamal Sellami confident his side is ready to bounce back after their disappointing loss to South Korea.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Sellami stressed that the team has worked hard to correct mistakes from the last match and is fully focused on securing three points.

“We’ve regrouped after the South Korea setback and used the last few days to sharpen up. The players are prepared, both physically and mentally,” he said.

Despite the absence of key player Mousa Al-Tamari, who remains in France for treatment with Montpellier, Sellami expressed faith in the depth of his squad.

Forward Yazan Naimat has recovered from injury and is set to play, giving the team a much-needed boost. “While losing a player like Al-Tamari is always tough, I trust the rest of the squad to step up. Everyone is ready to contribute,” Sellami added.

Sellami also acknowledged that Jordan has fallen short in
previous games, including dropping valuable points against Kuwait, but he remains optimistic about the team’s chances to advance in the qualifiers.

“We didn’t perform to our best against South Korea, but I take full responsibility. I’m confident in these players and their ability to rise to the occasion,” he said.

Looking ahead to Oman, Sellami praised their quality and warned of their strong attacking threat. “Oman may have had a tough start, but they’re a dangerous team with talented forwards. We’ll need to be at our best,” he noted.

Team captain Mahmoud Mardi echoed his coach’s confidence, promising a committed performance to secure the win and lift the spirits of Jordanian fans. “We’re ready to fight for every ball and give everything on the pitch to get the result we need,” Mardi said.
