Minister of Youth, Yazan Shdaifat, and Irish Ambassador Marianne Bolger met on Monday to discuss ways to enhance youth and sports cooperation between Jordan and Ireland.

During the meeting, Shdaifat commended the strong relations between the two nations, particularly in the youth sector. He also highlighted Jordan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and emphasized His Majesty King Abdullah II’s continuous regional and international efforts to stop the aggression on Gaza and ensure the ongoing delivery of relief, medical, and humanitarian aid to the people in the Strip.

Shdaifat outlined the Ministry’s programs aimed at empowering youth, developing their skills, and promoting their involvement in decision-making processes. He expressed his hopes for further collaboration in youth and sports within the framework of the National Youth Strategy, in line with the royal directives to advance and develop the nation’s youth.

Bolger echoed the importance of strengthening cooperation, referencing a memor
andum of understanding signed last year that has bolstered bilateral relations and supported joint initiatives.

She also noted Ireland’s recent contribution of sports equipment for the outdoor stadium in Al Hussein Youth City, reflecting her country’s commitment to supporting Jordan’s youth sector.

Bolger reaffirmed the embassy’s dedication to continuing this support, in coordination with the Ministry, to develop additional projects that benefit youth and contribute to community development.
