Head of the Jordanian-Greek Parliamentary Friendship Association MP Hayel Ayyash and Greek Ambassador Eleftheria Galathianaki on Wednesday discussed prospects to promote relations. Ayyash called for futher boosting the two countries’ historical relations, especially in parliamentary, commercial, and tourism fields. Members of the association commended Greece’s support for the Palestinian cause and the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Galathianaki underlined the importance of a solid Jordanian-Greek relationship, describing relations between the two parliament as “prosperous” and adding that Jordan is a friend and supporter of Greece, and “we see it as a stabilizer in the region.” She indicated that Greece backs the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as the two-state solution to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and achieve security and stability in the region.
