Jordan on Tuesday condemned the Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the latest of which was the aggression on the Gaza Strip early today, and the storming of the West Bank city of Nablus. In a statement, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Sinan Majali urged the international community to take swift and decisive action to put an end to such practices, and to provide protection for the Palestinian people in the coastal enclave and in the occupied Palestinian territories. Majali also warned that continued breaches and attacks on the Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem, as well as Israeli raids into occupied Palestinian territory, could lead to further escalation. The official also noted that Jordan continues its contacts and moves to immediately stop this dangerous escalation, restore calm, and prevent the eruption of violence.
