Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Chairman Khalil Haj and the Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, discussed Wednesday in Beirut developing economic ties and and the role of the private sector. They discussed practical steps through which the two countries’ trade exchanges can be activated away from routine procedures and removing obstacles and activating bilateral agreements that support this. according to a Chamber statement, the meeting focused on exchanging visits of economic delegations and holding joint exhibitions. Salam affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthen its economic relations with the Jordan, noting the “importance” of increasing the visits of economic delegations and deepening cooperation and coordination between the private sectors in the two countries. The Kingdom’s exports to Lebanon in 2022 amounted to about JOD 51 million, compared to JOD 80 million of imports.
