Engineer Nizar Bargash from the Jordan Petroleum Refinery CO (Jopetrol) has obtained a patent for the “Water and Flood Sensor System in Fuel Tanks,” which has been registered in Jopetrol’s name. This significant invention represents a milestone that places Jopetrol at the forefront of leading companies in the energy sector.
In a press release issued Monday, the company expressed immense pride in Engineer Nizar Bargash for also receiving the Social Security Award in Health and Safety for the 2022-2023 cycle, achieving first place for individuals.
The statement highlighted that this registered invention is crucial for the energy sector, particularly in the management of petroleum derivatives. Implemented in 150 service stations, the system allows for monitoring and protecting fuel tanks from the dangers of water intrusion or potential flooding. It alerts station staff to impending hazards and specifies the type of threat to prevent issues before they arise.
The invention is distinguished by its ability to co
nvert text messages from the fuel inventory measurement system, or the Automatic Tank Gauge system (ATG), into both audio and visual warnings. It identifies the problem (water presence or imminent flooding) in the fuel tanks, providing early warnings. The system can also halt the discharge from the fuel tank by closing the solenoid valve, thereby automatically stopping the discharge without human intervention.
General Manager of Jopetrol, Khaled Zoubi, emphasized that this new invention reinforces Jopetrol’s status as a leader in the energy sector and demonstrates its commitment to innovation and providing top-notch solutions to its customers. He noted that this system is a valuable addition to the suite of modern technologies Jopetrol employs in its operations.
“We are proud of the achievements of our Jordanian staff, and we value their hard work and dedication to achieving excellence and leadership in the energy sector. We believe that their commitment and creativity are the foundation for our continued s
uccess,” Zoubi added.
